Megan O’Brien is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and has worked in the mental health field since receiving a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Middle Tennessee State University in 2004. Megan started her career at St. Clair County Community Mental Health helping individuals with intellectual disabilities. Megan went on to earn her Master's Degree from Wayne State University in May 2009 and transitioned to the ACT Team (Assertive Community Treatment Team) where she spent 5 years working with people that have persistent and severe mental illness. Since then Megan went on to work in a variety of other settings such as Harbor Oaks Hospital, PCC’s Home-Based Program, and Blue Water Counseling. Megan has experience working with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, dissociative identity disorder, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, and ODD. Megan ultimately loves this field of work because it provides her the opportunity to help people with various challenges, they battle in their everyday life!
