If you are carrying emotional pain, family strain, addiction, or a struggle that has lasted longer than you ever wanted it to, it can be hard to know where to begin. You may feel worn down by the weight of it, unsure how to make sense of what is happening, or uncertain whether real change is still possible. In moments like that, what matters most is often having a calm, honest place to slow down, feel understood, and begin taking the next step forward.
That is the kind of space I work to create. I want counseling to feel steady, grounded, and respectful of your story. My goal is to help you look at what is happening with honesty and without shame, so we can work toward greater clarity, stability, and healing together. Whether you are facing a personal struggle, a marriage challenge, family conflict, or a more complex mental health concern, I want you to feel supported, not rushed.
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating substance use concerns, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, relational struggles, and long-standing emotional pain. My approach is practical, compassionate, and shaped by more than 30 years of experience in mental health and substance use care. I have worked with children, teens, and adults in outpatient, home-based, and crisis residential settings, and that breadth of experience helps me bring calm, perspective, and steady care to situations that may feel especially difficult or complicated.
I also care deeply about the health of marriages and families. I believe meaningful change often begins with honest reflection, personal growth, and the willingness to address what is happening beneath the surface. Healing is rarely instant, but it is possible, and I want counseling to be a place where that process feels both supported and hopeful.
For clients who desire Christian counseling, faith can be part of the healing process in a way that is thoughtful, respectful, and never forced. My background in pastoral ministry and training in Inner Healing Prayer allow me to make room for faith when it is meaningful to you and aligned with your goals for counseling.
Professional Background:
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and a Certified Addiction Counselor. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan, and I also hold a ministry degree from the MorningStar School of Ministry. I serve as the Director of Renewal Christian Counseling Center and provide counseling in both the Port Huron and Mount Clemens locations.

At Renewal Christian Counseling Center, we help restore what life has broken. For more than 25 years, we have cared for children, teens, adults, couples, and families through compassionate, clinically excellent mental health and substance use services.
As a CARF-accredited outpatient counseling center, we offer evidence-based care through a team of master’s- and doctoral-level clinicians. Every treatment plan is personalized, thoughtful, and built around the belief that healing is possible.
We practice Person-Centered Planning, which means your goals, your values, and your voice help shape the counseling process. We come alongside you with care that is tailored, respectful, and centered on the kind of growth you want to pursue.
Renewal is authentically Christian, though not affiliated with any one church or denomination. Faith can be part of the counseling process for those who want it, and every person is welcomed with respect, compassion, and dignity.
